Three Conservative MPs resigned from their party on Wednesday to join eight former Labour MPs who formed the Independent Group earlier this week. Brexit supporter and MEP Steven Woolfe has criticised the newly formed Independent Group, pointing out the organisations “biggest problem”. Mr Woolfe also compared the group to the “old group that came from Tony Blair”.
He told talkRADIO: “That is the biggest problem, they are still not listening. In a way, I do think this new group, the Independent Group, will grow.
“I suspect there will be more defections and I can see them winning elections in London and in parts of the southeast.
“But, they’re still part of that old group that came from Tony Blair that just didn’t listen to people across the country, that led to Brexit.”
