The 52-year-old Virgin Radio Breakfast Show host told listeners Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, 46, was set to run for president at the next US election. Telling his co-star Vassos Alexander about the rumours, Chris Evans suffered a blunder when he accidentally referred to Dwayne as “Dwight Johnson”. “This is massive news about Dwight ‘The Rock’ Johnson,” he announced. “Have you heard what he’s going to do? He’s going to stand for president, he’s going to run for for president on the Democrat ticket up against Trump. How cool is that?”

“Thank God,” he added. “Thank God, Amen, Hallelujah. But we’re not quite sure if he’s going to run this time round or in 20— whenever it’s going to be.”

Voicing his enthusiasm for the idea of The Rock running, he later made the same gaffe again, calling the actor and former wrestler “Dwight” a second time.

In neither instance was Chris corrected by any of his team of co-stars.

The Rock previously clarified repots he would be running for president in 2020, putting speculation to bed.

However, he said a campaign could happen int he future, telling IndieWire: “I’m not ruling out the idea if I could make a bigger impact somehow, or potentially surround myself with good people.”
