Following a few days of fairly warm and sunny weather, it will be a much more cloudy end to the week for many in the UK. Although parts of northern England will see a fairly mild and clear start to the day, towards the central areas there will be low cloud and therefore “some visibility problems” for commuters. The Met Office has warned that severe fog will linger over the south-east for most of the morning which could lead to slower journey times.

Met Office Meteorologist Aidan McGivern said: “Across central and southeastern areas there will low cloud, mist and in the higher ground in particular, there will be some visibility issues.

“On the south-east coast it won’t feel very warm at all due to the onshore breeze and quite a lot of mist.”

As Britons head toward the latter part of the afternoon that cloud will fizzle out leaving behind fairly warm temperatures with some areas in England hitting 16C.
