The Duchess of Sussex’s baby shower on Wednesday was the highlight of her five-day trip to New York which saw her visit a number of swanky venues. The event, which was organised by her friends, was held at Upper East Side hotel The Mark’s penthouse suite, which costs an eye-watering £57,000 ($75,000) a night. No expense was spared for the occasion, with flowers and mountains of presents seen being taken inside the hotel.
Meghan’s celebrity pals including tennis star Serena Williams, George Clooney’s wife Amal, former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer and stylist Jessica Mulroney were among guests at the star-studded party.
Misha Nonoo, who is thought to be the mystery friend who introduced Meghan to Harry, also attended.
After the do the mother-to-be was spotted boarding a private jet to head home to Prince Harry.
But Kensington Palace has faced a backlash for posting about poverty in the UK the day before Meghan’s lavish baby shower.
