Filling in for Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, ITV guest presenters Rylan and Rochelle were delighted to welcome X Files actor David, 58, to the This Morning sofa.
Rylan, 30, made no secret of how much he was a huge fan of the hugely-popular science fiction drama, but understood he was there to interview David about his new venture first and foremost.
The actor is currently touring music venues performing his brand new album in the UK, and tonight is the last night of his run.
But while David was enthusiastic about his projects, it was nothing compared to what came next.
In a complete change in tone, David popped up behind Rylan and Rochelle when they moved across the studio to continue on with the next segment.
Holding their iPads and reading out some of the viewer tweets, the presenters couldn’t contain themselves for too long as they had to address the fact David was standing right in the middle of them.
Joking he was just there to watch the puppets after the break - the stars of the new Madagascar musical were in the studio to perform a slimmed down version - David didn’t seem to care he was just hanging around on the set.
