Cruise ships all boast the various locations that holidaymakers would expect on board - bars, restaurants, spas and more. However, there’s one place that can be found on a cruise ship which many passengers may not realise is even there. It might not have the high drama or intrigue of other locations, but it could be just the ticket for passengers looking for some peace and quiet - as well as those looking for a different type of entertainment. This unlikely place is a library - and one can be found on board every cruise ship.

Cruise ship libraries offer a wide selection of books which can be read in the library or elsewhere on the ship - as long as they are returned before passengers disembark for good.
A spokeswoman for Princess Cruises told Express.co.uk: “I can confirm that there is a library on all of our ships. The library area is open for browsing and reading 24 hours a day, and a member of the entertainment staff is in attendance at certain times as noted in the Princess Patter.
“Ships are stocked with an extensive library including contemporary titles in a wide range of categories. There are books on art, history, sports, travel, health and wellness, natural history, and reference materials, including a world atlas and dictionary.
“In addition, there is also have a selection of board games available for guests to enjoy and can be checked out by a member of the entertainment staff.
“Guests are welcome to read a book within the library itself or check it out to read elsewhere around the ship.”
Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Line and Carnival all also confirmed they had libraries on board.

A Carnival spokesman told Express.co.uk:
