Dini Petty, a Canadian TV host interviewed Sarah Ferguson in 1996 in a tell-all interview that shed light on the Duchess’ philosophy on raising her two Princess daughters. The interview came just months after Sarah's divorce with Prince Andrew was finalised in May 1996. Ms Petty and the Duchess discussed her philosophy of raising her two daughters, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice as a mother.
Sarah explained: “Oh yes, well I feel very strongly that I’ve been on this huge road of learning from the mistakes and how to do things.
“What I want to do with them for example, I want to teach them to show their emotion, to speak their emotion.
“And to be themselves because it’s okay you know”.
Sarah, also known as Fergie described a time when she went shoe shopping with Eugenie and upon arriving home after she purchased a “lovely pair of shoes” for her, a week later the Duchess said to her youngest daughter “you haven’t worn your shoes”.
