Ron Perlman and Guillermo Del Toro may have had high hopes for Hellboy III, but the studio decided to reboot the franchise instead. Stranger Things’ Harbour stars as the friendly half-demon in what has been confirmed as an R-rated adaptation, suggesting the film will likely get a 15 certificate in the UK because of its frequent swearing and violence akin to X-Men movie Logan. The new trailer remakes the classic origin story from Mike Mignola’s Hellboy comic, in which Nazi occultists summon the half-demon from Hell, before he is recovered by the Allies and raised by Ian McShane’s Trevor Bruttenholm at the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defence.
