ITV confirmed its Kate Beckinsale drama The Widow would be arriving in 2019 after footage from the action-packed series was featured in its 2019 drama trailer back in November last year. The Widow is set to be airing on ITV at some point this year, while those outside Britain can watch it Amazon Prime. The Widow is a co-production between ITV and Amazon Studios and is expected to be a big hit thanks to its expansive and cinematic storytelling.
ITV has not yet shared a release date for The Widow but Amazon Prime has announced that the show will be available from Friday, March 1.
The March airdate suggests that The Widow could be airing sooner rather than later on ITV.
Express.co.uk has approached ITV for comment on the ITV air date and we’ll update this story when we know more.
The Widow has a total of eight episodes which will be airing on a weekly basis on ITV in the UK.
Once the transmission is complete, the show will be dropped in one go on Amazon for US audiences.
The series was filmed on location in South Africa, Rotterdam and Wales.

The show will feature an all-star cast led by Kate Beckinsale as Georgia Wells, who is the eponymous widow of the series.
Other cast members include Game of Thrones alumni Charles Dance, Broadchurch’s Matthew Gravelle and Alex Kingston of Doctor Who fame.
