Netflix revealed that they had cancelled the Punisher and Jessica Jones.
The Punisher had just released its second season, and Jessica Jones is on its third.
However, Jessica Jones season three will be the last of the Netflix Marvel series, and it probably has a lot to do with Disney’s upcoming streaming service.
That said, these Marvel Netflix TV shows were revolutionary for the superhero genre on television, and director Jeremy Webb recently revealed what the cancellation means for the future of these types of shows.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Webb revealed: “The cancellations of the Netflix Marvels shows is obviously a big loss to the crews in New York who made them, and as you know I really enjoyed being a part of that world.
He continued: “I think there’s already enough being written about why the spilt happened and how things will evolve from here.
Webb then went on to add that he had “no fear” that there would be more brilliant Marvel TV shows made in the future.
“Have no fear there will be more fantastic Marvel TV shows on different platforms as well as new exciting superhero content on Netflix,” he said, before adding: “Like The Umbrella Academy!”
Webb also directed two episodes of The Umbrella Academy which has quickly become one of Netflix’s hits of the year so far.
