Cheat’s two leading parts are played by Kelly, 39, and BAFTA-winner Windsor, 21. Speaking to the media, including Express.co.uk, Kelly exclusively revealed what drew her to the role of university lecturer Leah. Kelly said: “I was just taken away with the script, to begin with. It was such a page-turner, I had to keep reminding myself, ‘Okay, Leah’. “I kept getting swept away with it and it happened again when I watched it. It was such a rollercoaster and it had been a long time since I read a script like that. “I love how complicated Leah was and you know it’s a thriller and, in that genre, you don’t know the twists and turns are coming, I feel like that’s Leah as well.” Cheat on ITV start date: When does it start? (Image: ITV) Windsor also spoke about her character Rose and her experience of playing the Cheat character. The rising star said: “I think Rose is cool. I’ll fight Rose’s corner to the end because she sees the world for what it is. “She sees people like Leah and she’s not of their world so she can laugh at it, so she was a really fun part to play, a bit of an outsider. “Because the writing’s so good, you can find that depth in her, and right to the last second, you’re finding new things.” The pair are joined by a number of other big names in the world of British TV on Cheat, including Game of Thrones’ Burn Gorman as Ben and Humans star Tom Goodman-Hill as Adam. Other actors to appear in Cheat include Lorraine Ashbourne, as Angela, Peter Firth, as Michael, and Jimmy Akingbola, as DI Hammond.
