Martin Lewis regularly appears on the small screen, giving onlookers his top money saving tips. Today, it was This Morning viewers’ turn to receive a helpful dose of financial advice. Speaking during his Martin’s Weekly Deals section, the Money Saving Expert touched on how water bills are rising. While this may be bad news of UK billpayers, the 46-year-old had a way to beat the impact it could have on your bank account.

So, what does the journalist advise people do?

“Water bills are rising in April by a typical two per cent in England and Wales,” he began.

Martin continued: “Do check if you should switch to a water meter.

"My rule of thumb? If you've got more or the same number of bedrooms in your house as people, for example three bedrooms, two people, then a water meter may well be a saving."

In England and Wales, it’s free to make the move onto this way of paying for your water consumption.
