Richard, 48, is best known for his roles as host of his own quiz show Richard Osman’s House of Games, presenter of hit BBC quiz show Pointless, as well as quizzing the young brains of Britain on the UK edition of Child Genius. The presenter is joined by independent adjudicator Olivia van der Werff, who makes regular appearances on the show alongside Richard, as well as an expert in the field the children are being tested on sitting in on the rounds. After a five year stint on the Channel 4 quiz show, as well as presenting numerous special editions of the programme, Richard has decided to stand down from the presenting role. Taking to social media ahead of the series semi-final tonight, Richard told his 7.6 million Twitter followers he would not be returning next year. Richard’s post read: “The semi-final of this year’s ‘Child Genius’, is on tonight at 8 on C4. Some incredible competition ahead. “I’ve decided this is my final year on the show, time for someone else to have a go! “But it’s an absolute cracker. Enjoy!” Richard continued, as he teased what was ahead for viewers in tonight’s edition. His announcement gained a huge response from fans of the hit Channel 4 show, who replied voicing their sorrow at Richard handing over the reigns to another presenter. One viewer posted: “You shall indeed be missed. Especially that little added humour you bring to the proceedings. Still, more 'Pointless' and 'House Of Games', so I won't weep.” Another added: “Ah no sorry to hear this richard it has been a pleasure to watch. I hope someone will take it over although probs wont be the same without you x.” Express.co.uk have contacted Channel 4 for comment.
