Coronation Street viewers witnessed Shona Ramsey (played by Julia Goulding) getting herself into deep trouble tonight, as her son Clayton Hibbs (Callum Harrison) made her a hostage.
It all stemmed from Shona’s tricky method of leading the police to her fugitive son’s location without alerting him to her plan.
However it quickly backfired on her when he realised she had made a call to the police just before she arrived.
With this new information in hand Clayton simply flew off the handle, and refused to let Shona leave the deserted building he had locked himself in.
Obviously, this complicated matters further as the police then involved a hostage negotiator, leaving David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) distraught for the safety of his partner.
David had not had the best day, as he lost £2,500 earlier when Shona secretly siphoned it to Clayton.
And Clayton’s threats on Shona’s life were enough to tip him over the edge, as he attempted to run into the building and end the hostage situation.
However he was unsuccessful, as nearby police dragged him back, before being warned by the detective inspector on the scene.
