What is the situation with Wizz Air flights at Luton Airport?

Wizz Air flights could have beem severely “disrupted” as baggage handlers and check in staff planned go on strike at the airport.

Industrial action was been planned by GH London Ground Handling Services employees.

The spate of strikes was set to run between 6pm on March 3rd until 5:59pm on March 10th 2019, meaning hundreds of passengers and approximately 42 flight routes would be affected.

A spokesperson for Luton Airport confirmed to Express.co.uk on Friday the planned strikes had been suspended.

What have Wizz Air said about the situation?

A spokesperson for Wizz Air told Express.co.uk prior to the strike cancellation: “Wizz Air has been advised of planned strike action by GH London Ground Handling Services employees due to take place between 6pm on March 3rd until 5:59pm on March 10th 2019.

“Should the strike go ahead, Wizz Air flights from London Luton Airport may be disrupted.

“Whilst this planned strike is beyond our control, we will work hard to ensure that we minimise the impact on our customers.
