Former WW2 pilot Bryan Neely explained he was annoyed at the use of wartime rhetoric to convey points regarding Brexit by MPs. The veteran Brexiteer argued during World War Two there was more optimism and hope for the future whereas today there is an openly pessimistic attitude towards Brexit’s opportunities. He said: “We don’t want to be told by politicians who had nothing to do with the war what to do.
“We would probably be speaking German now if it wasn’t for us.
“Why the hell should they come in and tell us what to do.”
Mr Neely also told the Channel 4 presenter he doesn’t agree with politicians using wartime rhetoric to get their points across.
