Travellers to China will soon be able to step inside a stunning horizontal skyscraper hailed an “engineering marvel”. The eye-catching building, dubbed The Crystal, is part of the long-awaited Raffles City Chongqing project in Chongqing City. It is designed into a connecting skybridge amid the eight other skyscraper towers and will be the highest of its kind in the world. The jaw-dropping structure will span across the top of four skyscraper buildings, rising to 60ft tall and 820 feet in the air.
Meanwhile, the wider complex will house hotels, restaurants and shops in the unorthodox design.
It will also include offices and private homes.
The epic project, designed by architect Moshe Safdie, is close to completion.
Visitors will also be able to soak up the sights of the city in a special viewing gallery, as well as sky gardens and an infinity pool.
At nighttime, the cityscape will glow with a beaming light sent out from the structure.
