Lucy Alexander, 48, previously left Homes Under the Hammer after 13 years at the helm. On a recent episode of the property programme, Dion Dublin, 49, found himself looking around a house which was in a seriously sorry state. The three-bed semi-detached pad had clearly not been lived in for a long time and was full of former tenants' belongings, mould and cobwebs. Before entering, he joked it looked like the Hammer House of Horror. “Wow, wow, wow, and you know what wow is?” he said, looking shellshocked as he walked in through the front door. “The smell. That is so potent. It smells mouldy.
“It’s dark and dingy in here,” Dion continued, before pointing out the bathroom, saying it looked like “a black hole”.
“I’ve been in some really bad places on Homes Under the Hammer and this is one of the most crammed ones I’ve ever seen,” Lucy’s former co-star admitted.
At a loss for words, he appeared unable to compose himself enough to describe the property.
“It’s sort of taken me back a little bit, actually,” he said. “I don’t know what to say. It’s shocked me.
“This whole place needs to be gutted and I’ve only seen one room but the smell is telling me more than I can see,” he declared.
Upstairs, the house was in just as terrible a state and Dion wasn’t even
