Square Enix news starts with the Final Fantasy 7 Remake once again being voted by gamers as their most anticipated game on the horizon.

A poll that appeared in the most recent issue of Famitsu put the Final Fantasy 7 Remake as readers’ most anticipated upcoming game.

The FF7 Remake received hundreds more voted than the second placed game, Devil May Cry 5.

The news comes as fans have been left wondering whether Square Enix will be holding an event on the Final Fantasy 7 Remake soon.

It was previously rumoured earlier this year that a big Final Fantasy 7 Remake event could take place in April.

And in a post on the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Reddit page fans have been left wondering if there’s any truth in this rumour.

As one fan pointed out: “I don't think the 4chan rumor for the April event is real but i do think their could be an April event just not the one from the leak, However this quote right here from the investors briefing is interesting.”

The quote the Redditor pointed out, from a recent Square Enix briefing, said: “I cannot go into any detail at the moment, but I believe we will be able to make various announcements in the leadup to this year’s E3.”

The Reddit user went on to say: “When they say ‘in the leadup to this year’s E3’ leads me to believe they mean in the months prior to E3 ... possibly end of March?

“Probably more likely sometime April is where I would place my bets.

“Not sure how they will break the silence, call me crazy but event or no event I think early April is gonna end the dry season.”
