Larson released her debut and only album Finally Out Of P.E. back in 2005; about the ups and downs of her life as a teenager. She was only 16-years-old when the record was released, and 15 when she launched its debut single She Said; complete with a music video in which she looks virtually unrecognisable. That track has almost 100,000 spins on Spotify and over one million on YouTube - so could her pop days win some sort of cult popularity now she’s bossing the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
She Said’s lyrics actually send out a sentiment Carol Danvers herself would endorse: a young woman keen to step out of her comfort zone and see how far she can go.
Larson sings: “I might hit the ground, but at least I’ll have a story to tell.
“She said, I’ve got to find out for myself.”
The track poked its head inside the Top 40 in the US, but the album did not: Finally Out Of P.E. reportedly sold fewer than 4,000 copies.
