Why did Amy Wyatt leave Emmerdale?

Amy left Emmerdale in a bid to live a life with her son Kyle, who she had given up for adoption shortly after his birth.

Emmerdale viewers witnessed Halfpenny’s character kidnap Kyle following the death of his adoptive parents, Tom and Karen Winchester.

Amy planned to live a life on the run with her son and plotted to escape to Ireland with him.

Cain, Kyle’s father, managed to stop her at the docks before she could flee the country.

ITV viewers then saw Cain return Kyle to his adoptive grandmother Joanie Wright (Denise Black) while Amy decided she would still move to Ireland and leave Emmerdale.
