BBC One will air the second episode of This Time with Alan Partridge tonight (Monday, March 4) at 9.30pm. This Time with Alan Partridge tonight features a storyline unlikely to feature on The One Show, but the show is inspired by the BBC One and a number of other magazine shows. Susannah Fielding (who plays Jennie Gresham) has also revealed which TV presenter she based her new Alan Partridge series character on.
This Time with Alan Partridge is not directly based on The One Show.
However, it does take aim at magazine TV shows including not only the BBC One teatime show but also series like Good Morning Britain.
In an interview in character as Alan Partridge, Steve Coogan described This Time, the fictional show at the heart of This Time with Alan Partridge.
He called it: “A 30-minute mixture of studio chat, rigorous interview, hard-hitting VTs and a generous helping of fun, covering news, issues and consumer affairs.”
