The Whisperers' leader Alpha (played by Samantha Morton) decapitated Helen after she attempted to challenge her power by arguing against decisions she had made.
Helen had accused Alpha of putting the lives of her followers at risk to but Alpha insisted her followers are free to follow her and they do so for protection.
Alpha then wrapped a razor wire around Helen's neck, decapitating her and holding up her head to her followers to set a resounding example.
She then passed the head to Helen’s boyfriend who Alpha had earlier accused of challenging her authority.
Alpha showed her cold-blooded killing streak when she mocked him for crying: “Crying is weak.”
Then, emphasising her brutality even more, she stabbed Helen's boyfriend in the gut.
Did this brutal scene foreshadow more death to come?
In the comics, the decapitated heads of Rosita (Christian Serratos) and Ezekiel (Khary Payton) and numerous other people are found on pikes planted by Alpha.
