A spokesman for the Pakistan Navy said: “The Pakistan Navy used its specialised skills to ward off the submarine, successfully keeping it from entering Pakistani waters. The Indian submarine was not targeted keeping in view Pakistan's policy of peace.” Officials also released aerial video footage appearing to show the periscope of a submarine breaking the surface.

Indian defence sources told India Today TV they were "verifying" the video for authenticity.
They claimed initial scrutiny of the video suggested the footage dated back to 2016 and was released today was part of a "propaganda stunt”.
The latest clash comes as tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad remain high following the Indian Air Force airstrike in Pakistan that took out Jaish-e-Mohammad's largest terrorist camp.
