World War Three worries have been sparked today after America deployed missiles to Israel – much to the “delight” of the Israeli Prime Minister. The delivery of the missiles came for the first time, amid an increasingly unsettling climate with Iran. A video released by the Israeli Defence Force shows THAAD launchers and other vehicles being unloaded from an enormous military aircraft at the Nevatim Air Base. The THAAD system is designed to shoot down short and intermediate range ballistic missiles during their terminal phase - re-entry or descent.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was delighted, exclaiming: “The American THAAD system is considered among the most advanced systems in the world, and together with our defence systems, we are stronger in dealing with threats, close or distant, emanating from all areas of the Middle East.”

According to blog Invest With Alex, the US in particular is a country likely to be hit by a nuclear strike.

Yet it offers some hope for Britons hoping to escape any political turmoil and consequent warfare, by flagging the safest countries to flee should nuclear World War Three break out.

It highlights parts of the South Pacific, central Australia, New Zealand, central Africa, and central and South America as ones which will be “more or less spared”.
