Keith Flint's wife breaks silence after #TheProdigy star's suicide age 49

The Prodigy singer Keith Flint, who featured on hits such as Firestarter and Breathe, was found dead at his Essex home, while his wife Mayumi Kai was reportedly away in Japan. His bandmates Liam Howlett and Maxim announced their “brother” had taken his own life at his property in Braintree online shortly after the news of his death emerged. On their official Instagram page, they shared a picture of Keith alongside the caption: “I’m shell shocked, f**** angry, confused and heart broken... r.i.p brother Liam #theprodigy." They also posted on their Facebook page writing: “It is with deepest shock and sadness that we can confirm the death of our brother Keith Flint who sadly took his own life over the weekend.”

Keith’s wife, who he married in 2006, retweeted a Japanese news story about her husband’s death which included the band’s statements.

Many of her 12,000 followers flocked to her page to comment.

One user wrote: “My sincerest condolences to you @DJMAYUMI. I really loved Keith's music, he'll always be remembered.”

A second commented: “Sorry to hear the news. You will get through this with support from family, friends and music lovers.”

A third added: “Too bad news.”

According to The Sun, Keith had split from his wife last year and put their Essex home on the market just days before his death.
