Brexiteer MP Iain Duncan Smith claimed that the current state of Brexit has forced former Remain voters to support leaving the EU with no deal to end the deadlock. The former Conservative leader added that the threats from the EU had also fuelled desires to leave the European Union without a deal. During a Bloomberg interview, he said: “If you look at the polling it is quite clear that the vast majority want to get out now, even if they voted Remain they just want us to get on with it.
“It is very difficult to break it down but all the polling tells us categorically that the majority are happy to go out without a withdrawal agreement.
“That gets the highest scoring of the lot.
“That is because what we have been seeing with the EU in the last few months is really not a very nice sight.
“It is a group of people you would think would want to do a good arrangement with us and actually get to stay out as friends.
