Jan-Michael Vincent dies aged 74 after suffering a cardiac arrest

Jan-Michael Vincent died back on February 10 after suffering a cardiac arrest whilst a patient at a North Carolina hospital, according to TMZ.

The US publication, who obtained the death certificate, reports no autopsy was performed and Jan-Michael was later cremated.

The American actor last worked in film, White Boy, in 2002.

The star began his career in the California Army National Guard in the 1960s.

He went onto achieve his first acting job in movie The Bandits, which was released in 1967.

He found fame playing helicopter pilot, Stringfellow Hawke, on the TV series Airwolf.

The popular show ran from 1984 to 1986 and earned Jan-Michael $200,000 per episode, making him the higher paid actor on television at the time.

After the series was axed, Jan-Michael starred in a few low-profile roles and went on to battle drink and drug problems.

In 1996, he suffered multiple injuries in a serious car accident, which left him with broken vertebrae in his neck and sustained permanent damage to his vocal chords.
