Dan Walker, 41, took to the heights of Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa, alongside a host of famous faces including Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall and Strictly Come Dancing’s Shirley Ballas to raise money for Comic Relief this month.The gruelling climb had seemingly appeared to take it’s toll on the broadcaster as he took to Instagram to share he had been “struck down” by altitude sickness. Sharing a snap of himself with his head in his hands, the BBC star said he had made “friends for life” following his experience. In view of his 65,200 Instagram followers, Dan wrote: “I think we all went to Kilimanjaro hoping to meet some new people and raise loads of money for @comicrelief.

“I don’t think any of us expected to make friends for life. I will never forget @jadethirlwall sharing some strawberry lace love when I was struck down by altitude sickness and I couldn’t have asked to spend time with a better bunch on the #returntokili.”
