The latest drama from ITV features four thrilling parts, and stars Katherine Kelly, who plays university lecturer Leah, and Molly Windsor as her student Rose.
Tonight’s episode was a slow starter putting the time in to set up the cat and mouse relationship between the two women.
But most viewers weren’t expecting such a harrowing ending - Leah’s cat Betsy was killed by a car and found lying dead on the road not far from the lecturer’s house in the programme.
As the episode went on, Leah found the furry feline’s lifeless body, and viewers were angry.
“I just want to find my cat,” Leah told her husband initially, before asking him angrily: “Do you think this is a coincidence?
“She was here and now Betsy goes missing.”
And when the couple found the cat on the road, a puzzled Leah inquired: “where was her collar? she didn’t have her collar on.”
