Theresa May secures crucial changes to her deal (Image: GETTY )
Despite the Prime Minister supposedly securing “legally binding” changes, the DUP has not openly confirmed its support for Mrs May’s deal as of yet. Speaking tonight, Cabinet Office minister, David Lidington confirmed that the Prime Minister had obtained significant changes to the current proposal from the EU. In a statement, the DUP said: “We note the Prime Minister’s latest statement and update on our EU exit negotiations.
“These publications need careful analysis.
“We will be taking appropriate advice, scrutinising the text line by line and forming our own judgment.”
In a last-ditch attempt to secure changes to the deal ahead of the vote on Tuesday, Mrs May managed to agree two documents following negotiations with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and the EU’s chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier.
The Prime Minister has apparently acquired “a joint legally-binding instrument” on the withdrawal agreement.
