#TheFlash showrunner announces BIG change for season 6

The Flash - Barry Allen - (played by Grant Gustin) has had his work cut out for him this season.

Usually The CW’s scarlet speedster is taking on metahumans, evildoers, and villains - but this year has been a little different.

Barry has been put up against Cicada (Chris Klein) - a regular man with a dagger imbued with metahuman energy.

But next season Barry will be given a brand new challenge as the show as a whole begins to change drastically.

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed The Flash’s showrunner Todd Helbing is stepping down from the show.

In his place Eric Wallace will be taking the spot of The Flash’s boss - after previously working as a co-executive producer since season four.

Greg Berlanti, the executive producer of The Flash, and a number of other DC Comics TV shows, released a statement with the announcement.

He said: “From his first day on The Flash, Todd Helbing has been a leader on the show, beloved by the cast and crew for his exceptional talent, vision and wonderful attitude.

“We are all sad to see him go, but we will all be better for the many shows he will no doubt create and run in the future.”
