After Life on Netflix introduced viewers to the character of Tony (played by Ricky Gervais) in season one. Tony is a widower mourning the loss of his wife Lisa (Kerry Godliman) but decides it’s time to start dating again by the end of the series. After Life viewers witnessed Gervais’ character ask his dad’s Nurse (Ashley Jensen) out for a drink before the season drew to a close. Here’s what we know about their romance and whether or not Tony and Emma will be together in season two.

After Life season two is yet to be given the green light by Netflix but that hasn’t stopped fans coming up with theories.
Tony and his dad’s Nurse, Emma, had a hit-and-miss relationship throughout the first season.
Netflix viewers were left overjoyed, however, when Tony eventually asked her for a drink in the season finale.
The pair had been at loggerheads over Tony’s behaviour and the lack of attention he paid to his father (David Bradley).
Gervais’ character had reconciled his differences with those around him, including Nurse Emma, and the pair headed for a drink before the finale’s end credits.

Netflix viewers, therefore, know season one ended with the pair embarking on a romantic relationship of some sort.
Unfortunately for After Life fans, the fact there’s no word of a season two makes it difficult to predict whether they’ll still be together in another series.
