The two royals were seen by millions hugging before Kate planted a cheeky kiss on her sister-in-law’s cheek. The move made headlines across the globe after it appeared to put to bed a theory that the two Duchesses did not get along. But according to Vanity Fair, a royal source argues Kate knew the cameras would be watching them so decided to show public support.
The cuddle took place during Meghan’s final appearance before she takes maternity leave at Westminster Abbey on Monday.
The source suggests because Kate was aware of this, she wanted to send a positive message to Meghan.
