Recent state pension changes have caused outrage among some.

There have been women protesting all over the country, including last weekend in Skipton, reported by the Craven Herald.

Fifty members of Women Against State Pension Inequality group demonstrated the rise in women’s state pension age.

They believe the way in which women’s pension age has been slowly rising to reach equality with men’s is unfair.

Many have complained that there has been little notification about the change in the rules.

Women and supporters of their movement have also been tweeting using the hashtag Backto60 on Twitter.

One wrote recently: “If a private company changed the terms of a contract 3 years in without notification they'd be sued!”

Another said: “Let’s hope after Judicial Review Govt is forced to return our missing state pensions. I’ve lost 3.5 yrs so far.

“It’s a big hole in our finances and one we couldn’t have planned for. Moving the goalposts at the end of working life is unacceptable.”

There have been claims that the current implementation of equalisation of state pension age could cause "poverty, homelessness and financial hardship among the affected women".
