The Party will support a cross-party amendment aiming to forcing another vote. The vote would be on whether to accept or reject Theresa May’s EU exit deal. However there is speculation remaining in the EU could also be on the ballot paper.
An amendment seeking another public vote has been put forward by Labour MPs Peter Kyle and Phil Wilson.
Speaking to The Sunday Telegraph Sir Keir said the amendment “is clearly in line with the approach the Labour Party has taken to a public vote”.
The paper reports Sir Keir has been assisting Mr Kyle and Mr Wilson with the wording of their amendment.
They also have the backing of a number of Tory MPs, including former Justice Minister Phillip Lee.
