The First Lady has been accused of having a body double which triggered a hashtag on Twitter stating "Fake Melania”. After the President travelled to Alabama after the recent tornado, hosts on ABC’s The View also speculated the woman pictured with Donald Trump was completely different from his wife. During Mr Colbert’s comedy sketch three impersonators appeared on the show dressed as Melania.
On the Late Show, Mr Colbert sarcastically stated that he had a known “source” and that the rumours were “nothing more than wild conspiracy theory”.
The first actress to appear, Laura Bennati, joked: “It makes no sense. How can there be two Melania Trumps?
“Think about it! Doesn’t it seem crazy that there is even one?”
After those comments, he then interviewed two more actors impersonating the First Lady as they looked to mock Melania.
