Researcher for the UK in a Changing EU think tank, Matt Bevington, has revealed the EU will be pleased with how difficult the Brexit negotiations have been for the UK Government. Although the EU may not have intended the negotiations to be so long and drawn out, the chaos that currently surrounds the UK only goes to warn other EU states of the consequences of a referendum, he argued. Mr Bevington told the Express.co.uk: “The EU put forward a clear indication that it sets the terms of the negotiations.

“They are happy that’s been difficult thus far.

“It shows that there’s a price for leaving and the EU has demonstrated publicly what the outcomes might be.”

Following Theresa May’s loss last week, the Prime Minister is now in an even weaker position and could well hold a third meaningful vote.

The Prime Minister has warned MPs must back her deal next week or Brexit could be delayed for a prolonged period of time.
