BBC Breakfast host Dan Walker spills SECRET to #FACup amid semi-final news

BBC Breakfast host Dan Walker, 41, joked about a banana he had stored inside the trophy, which will be given to this year’s Women’s FA Cup winner in May. The broadcaster held the trophy while sat alongside his co-star Louise Minchin, 50, who took off the lid to unveil the piece of fruit. In view of his 68,000 followers, he could be heard saying: “Ok, the winning FA Cup, Louise Minchin please unveil what is in the trophy?” Louise lifted the lid with Dan zooming in on the banana inside.

He then turned the camera onto his co-star who jokingly claimed: “It’s mine!”

Dan added: “It’s a banana in there. We will be doing the draw in a moment. Goodbye.”

Many of his fans flocked to his page to comment on the amusing clip.

One user wrote: “Love you two on the sofa such joy in the morning.”

A second commented: “You two are really funny together.”

During the show today, Sports reporter Sally Nugent, 47, brought up Louise’s upcoming role of drawing out the balls for the Women’s FA Cup Semi Finals.
