Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew’s ten-year marriage ended in divorce in 1996, after their scandal-laden 1992 separation, and the Duchess of York faced a period of being frozen out from the Royal Family. She did not attend the 2011 wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, however the Duchess – otherwise known as Fergie – was present for the marriage of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle in 2018. In June, listeners heard from body language expert Judi James on how Fergie was “insecure” and “vulnerable” on the big day at St George’s Chapel, Windsor.

Ms James said: “Her body language I found very touching actually, she had to walk in by herself.

“She was doing these little baby waves and a slightly creeping walk.

“She was clearly doing a good act of lowering her own status, it was as though she was creeping in via the servants’ entrance.
