Graham Foster’s lies about Joe Tate exposed on #Emmerdale in huge clue you ...

Tonight’s instalment of Emmerdale was a shocker for many fans, who had gradually become convinced millionaire businessman Joe (played by Ned Porteous) was truly dead.

There were moments of the plot which were seemingly never fully explained - Graham (Andrew Scarborough) staring at his godson’s twitching hand in the boot of his car for example.

But despite this, the absence of Joe for a whopping five months seemed to eventually prove Cain Dingle’s (Jeff Hordley) guilt and Debbie Dingle’s (Charley Webb) grief as true on the ITV soap - until now.

Kim Tate (Claire King) had only been back in the village for a couple of days when she realised her lackey and lover Graham was hiding something major.

Calling up her private investigator Marcus, Kim then uncovered the truth once and for all - Joe is alive and hiding out in Monte Carlo while using his evil former step-grandmother’s account for cash.

But as Kim finally confronted Graham about his lies, fans may have struggled to put the pieces of the puzzle together.

Why did Graham fall off the wagon so dramatically when Joe “died”, depressed and lashing out at everyone around him?

Even when an upset Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) turned on Graham, desperate to hear some good news about his half-brother, the former butler continued to unleash his anger on the teenager.

One reason could be that Graham faked his drink problems to get closer to wedding planner Megan Macey (Gaynor Faye).
