Officers from the Metropolitan Police were called to an address in Knights Close after reports a man with a knife had been making threats to kill. During the altercation, an officer suffered a slash injury before the 28-year-old man was shot by a specialist firearms members. In a statement, the police said: “Police were called at 21:43hrs on Tuesday, 19 March to Knights Close, Hackney, following reports of a domestic disturbance at a residential address. “Specialist firearms officers attended the scene.” The statement advised that the man was subsequently taken to an east London hospital. They are currently waiting for an update on his condition. The Met added: “The officer's injury is not believed to be life-threatening.
