Dan Walker celebrated his birthday in style, with the journalist scoffing down waffles and pancakes after being gifted a copy of the Mi Amigo book. But the surprises did not stop there, as the BBC Breakfast host’s co-stars also presented him with a gift. The presenter was given a banana with ‘Happy Birthday’ etched on it when he arrived at the broadcasting studio. Only days earlier the father-of-three, who turned 42 on Tuesday, had hidden the fruit inside the Woman’s FA cup trophy.
Perhaps seeing the irony to the gift, Dan told his 68,3000 Instagram followers the present was “amazingly generous”.
He quipped: “Thank you to the @bbcbreakfast team for the amazingly generous gift #BirthdayBanana,” before adding a present and crying with laughter emoji.
Joking about the bizarre gesture, fans of the star commented below Dan’s post, adding their own hilarious commentary.
