Ben or Number Six (played by Justin H. Min) was tragically killed in his youth and now haunts his brother’s life without being seen by anyone else.
This intimate relationship in The Umbrella Academy has got fans speculating on how he died and who killed him.
His death is never fully explained and this suggests there is more to the story than on first glance because it is as if fans are being geared up for a big reveal.
One of the reasons for suspecting Klaus (Robert Sheehan) is because a theme throughout the series is of spirits attaching themselves to the person that killed them.
A scene occurs where Klaus brings back the victims of Hazel (Cameron Britton) and Cha-Cha (Mary J. Blige), assassins sent to kill people who mess with time travel, to haunt them and viewers learn that the dead stay attached to those that kill them.
Does this mean that Klaus killed Ben?
One theory is that Klaus’s reliance on drugs must have played a part and perhaps Ben overdosed on drugs given to him by Klaus.
This would explain why he is constantly lecturing Klaus on drugs and that he should stop taking them and sober up.
One Reddit user said: “I thought that Ben may have died overdosing on drugs Klaus gave him because maybe he wanted to escape having monsters living with him.
“It would reinforce why Ben is so anti-drug to Klaus now.”
