The Great British Menu is back for 2019, with the contestants representing London and the South East cooking tonight (Wednesday, March 20) at 8pm on BBC 2. The Great British Menu contestants this year have to serve up a batch of music-inspired dishes for the chance to feature at a meal at Abbey Road Studios celebrating 50 years since The Beatles last played live together. BBC2 has also announced the judges and celebrities who will be judging the chefs of The Great British Menu 2019.
As ever on The Great British Menu, the contestants are split up by region, with 24 chefs divided over eight areas.
This year’s series will start with London and the South East contestants and will then cycle through the North East, Central, North West, Scotland, South West, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
The BBC has revealed the names of each chef and which restaurant they worked in prior to joining The Great British Menu 2019.
One contestant will go through each week to the finals, which will air in eight weeks time.
