The BBC programme was joined by 33 mascots in aid of the BBC Sport’s Super Movers Mascot Mash-up initiative where schoolchildren devised goal celebrations in order to be put into routine for the furry football mascots. Strictly Come Dancing stars AJ Pritchard and Karen Clifton were also there as part of the segment as they had leant their support. However, Alex had doubts about her and Matt’s ability to judge the competition which saw the favourite moves performed on television. “Unbelievably, we were also judges on this,” Alex laughed. Matt then replied: “We have Strictly history!” The pair then shared a laugh as Alex confirmed: “Yep, we have Strictly history!” Alex starred on Strictly in 2011 where she got to week 11, while Matt competed in 2010 and reached second place. The Super Movers goal is to get schoolchildren up and active. Karen said of the initiative: “It’s a fantastic collaboration between the Premiere League and primary schools to get kids moving. Mentally and physically, it helps learning.” Some viewers were absolutely baffled as the 33 mascots performed the routine on their televisions and they took to Twitter to comment. “Thought I’d entered a parallel universe then?! #theoneshow,” one questioned.
