The Bay is ITV’s latest mystery drama, which starts tonight (Wednesday, March 20) at 9pm. ITV filmed The Bay in Morecambe, where the series is also set. Morecambe provided a number of problems for filming The Bay, including quicksand.
The Bay on ITV is set in Morecambe, Lancashire and is, according to its writer, the first TV drama to be set there.
Daragh Carville, who wrote all episodes of The Bay and lives close to Morecambe, said at an event attended by Express.co.uk: “There’s never been a TV show set in that area.”
“A couple of years ago on social media there was a map of the UK made up of TV shows and there was a gap which was where I live.”
He joked: “I was offended by that so I decided to fill up that bit of the map.”
