With Freddie Pargetter’s (Tom Laurence) return to Ambridge imminent, Elizabeth Pargetter (Alison Dowling) is determined to make his arrival perfect and goes above and beyond for her son in next week’s The Archers.
A self-reproachful Elizabeth blames herself for his descent into crime and tells Russ (Andonis James Anthony) she fears her parenting was inadequate.
Lily Pargetter (Katie Redford), who is starting a new job, also worries her mother thinks Freddie’s release will somehow solve all their other problems.
Meanwhile, the residents of Ambridge are in two minds about him coming out, although they do prepare for his release.
Having spent a substantial amount of time behind bars, will prison have changed Freddie? If so, could it be for the worst?
Elizabeth is already guilt-ridden, will she go off the rails if Freddie is not who she had hoped he would be?
Elsewhere in the village, Tom Archer (William Troughton) will discover a shocking secret about his new bride, Natasha, while Jill Archer (Patricia Greene) plans a huge event for Mother’s Day.
Sadly, Jill realises her idea, though thoughtful, is doomed after everyone reminds her what a disaster Christmas dinner was.
Also playing out in The Archers next week, is the fallout between Toby Fairbrother (Rhys Bevan) and Pip Archer (Daisy Badger) when the former says a little too much, putting her in a tough spot.
