Emma Willis on 'stab to the heart' moment: 'I couldn't look'

The presenter, 43, previously hosted Big Brother from 2013 until 2018, when the final series aired. In an interview with OK! Magazine, Emma Willis opened up on the day the Borehamwood house was demolished, explaining how she had been at the studios filming The Voice UK at the time. “I was filming The Voice, so I wasn’t just there pining but it was sad!” she said. “I hadn’t thought about it on my way to the studios.

“They pulled up right in front of the house,” Emma continued.

“I heard trucks reversing and flattening things, and I couldn’t look.”

She remembered how she was close to the action as the old Big Brother house was flattened, adding: “As if to stab me in the heart just a little bit more, they put me in my old Big Brother dressing room on the ground floor right next to it.

“It was so warm that the windows were open and you could hear it all going on.”

Emma joined the Big Brother family in 2013, after the reality series moved from Channel 4 to Channel 5 two years earlier.

The show was presented by former winner Brian Dowling, 40, for two series before Emma took over.
