Much of the country will be enveloped by cloud, though some breaks are expected. Saturday should be dryer, especially for southern England. However fierce winds should be expected in the North.
Met office meteorologist Ellie Creed said the UK should expect “cold air spreading in over the next few days”.
Referring to Friday morning he explained: “A cold front is just sat to the west of Scotland and Northern Ireland.
“That does mean outbreaks of rain for both areas.
“Further south for northern England and Wales maybe one or two spots of rain and drizzle particularly over the hills, a bit murky here as well.
